Terms of sale

These terms cover your purchase of The Halcyon Guest, a browser-based investigation game sold by Halcyon Casebooks. Buying it means you accept them, so please read them first. They're short.

What you're buying

A one-time purchase of one case, The Halcyon Guest. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Access is for life and belongs to the Whop account you bought with. You play it here by choosing Sign in with Whop and using that same account.

Payment

Whop runs the checkout and takes the payment, so Whop's terms also apply to it. Your card details go to Whop and its payment processors. We never see them.

Refunds

If the case isn't for you, email halcyoncasebooks@gmail.com within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full. Include the email address on your Whop account or your Whop receipt so we can find the purchase.

A refund ends your access, whether it's full or partial. So does a chargeback or payment dispute raised with your bank. Refund requests after 14 days aren't guaranteed. None of this limits any rights you have under the law where you live.

Your licence

The game is for you to play. Please don't share your sign-in, resell access, or copy or publish the game, its papers or its files.

You can download an offline edition from inside the game. It's covered by the same licence and is yours only while your purchase stands. If you're refunded, delete any copy you downloaded.

Playing and your saved progress

The game runs in a modern web browser with WebGL. Your investigation is saved in that browser on your device, not on our servers. If you clear your browser's site data, or switch to another browser or device, your progress won't come with you, and we can't restore it.

We work to keep the game available, but it may occasionally be offline for maintenance or problems outside our control. Your saved progress stays on your device while that happens.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes don't take away access you've already paid for.
